NEW DELHI: Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan Motor on Tuesday launched its much awaited SUV, the Kicks in India at a price of Rs 9.55 lakh to Rs 14.65 lakh, (all prices ex-showroom). The new SUV is offered in a total of four variants, XL, XV, XV premium and XV Premium +. While the diesel is available in all four trims, the petrol gets only the first two options.
Nissan is also offering a subscription package for customers who don't wish to downright buy the Nissan Kicks for a vehicle-running cost of Rs 11 per kilometre.
In an attempt to pump sales, the carmaker is a offering a three-year warranty and 24X7 road ride assistance free of cost to the first 10,000 buyers.

We are confident that with its progressive SUV design and advanced technology, as well as many best-in-class propositions, the new Nissan Kicks will stand out in this competitive SUV segment in India,” said Thomas Kuel, President, Nissan India Operations.
The Indian version of Nissan Kicks takes design cues from the company's international SUV models. Kicks gets a prominent signature 'V-Motion' grille at the front which comes with a chrome finished bezel. The headlamps are sleek and get LED projector beams along with LED daytime running lights. The fog lamps are not conventionally round in shape but in a sort of rectangular fashion.

Nissan Kicks first drive review: Creta may get a tough fight soonFrom the side, Kicks is a sporty looking SUV with a floating roofline. It stands tall on 17-inch alloy wheels offering a ground clearance of 210mm. It also gets a contrast colour roof and signature boomerang tail lamps.
In terms of measurements, Kicks is longer, wider and taller than its direct rival, Hyundai Creta.
Inside, Kicks offers a dual-tone interior and an eight-inch touchscreen display with connectivity features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The SUV gets black and brown leather upholstery while a similar colour combination is evident on the dash and door trims as well.
It has rear AC vents and for the first time in this segment, automatic air-conditioning is offered as standard in the SUV.
Kicks is based on the same platform that also underpins the Nissan Terrano and the Renault Duster. It carries forward the same 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines from its siblings. The petrol powertrain, mated to a five-speed manual transmission delivers 106PS of power and a peak torque of 142Nm while the diesel returns 110PS of power and 240 Nm of peak torque of 240Nm.
In terms of safety, Nissan Kicks comes with front disc and rear drum type braking setup. It also gets Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA) as standard features. As an addition, the carmaker offers a Hill Start Assist feature a 360-degree camera (segment first feature) and four airbags.
The compact SUV will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta and the Renault Captur.
